The role:
Reporting to the Head of Financial Structuring to manage the structural financing activities of the Society and to undertake dealing activity in wholesale financial markets.
You will work within a small team to:
- Develop and maintain detailed financial structuring models for the analysis of retail savings products and mortgage portfolios;
- Determine the appropriate structures and pricing information for a range of hedging and funding solutions (e.g. covered bonds, securitisation, whole loan sales);
- Work with other areas of the business to ensure capital market funding techniques and costs are appropriately factored into retail product design and pricing;
- Undertake analysis to determine appropriate pricing in acquisition and divestment opportunities;
- Optimise the use of mortgage collateral in funding structures;
- Control interest rate, currency & counterparty credit risk and ensure limit compliance;
- Contribute towards the decision making process within the Treasury department and the formulation of interest rate & financial structuring strategies;
- Maintain and develop the Society’s reputation within the wholesale markets;
- Enhance appropriate technical and core skills to be a participant in an effective, flexible and multi-skilled dealing unit;
- Initiate and develop financial structuring relationships with leading wholesale market counterparts;
- To deputise for the Head of Financial Structuring where necessary.
Experience required:
- You will have previous experience in structuring financial transactions;
- A wide understanding money markets, capital markets (including securitisation) and derivative markets;
- Knowledge and practical experience of undertaking large and complex transactions in wholesale markets;
- You will be preferably educated to degree standard and/or hold an appropriate professional qualification;
- You will be numerate with good spreadsheet modelling skills;
- The position also requires good interpersonal communication and negotiating skills;
- This role requires significant travel.
