How it works

Barbican Learning shows you the content and objectives. You then start.  Each course explains the key information. It is simply written and answers your questions. You don't have to be an expert.

Barbican learning is bite sized. You can complete a course in 30-45 minutes. Each learning loop takes 5-10 minutes. It means courses are completed.

Barbican Learning provides you with tracking, testing and reporting. You can see what's done, show it to a third party and measure effectiveness.

Barbican Learning can be “white labelled” and you can add your own policies, procedures, risks and deals.

What's different?

Research. This was carried out over the telephone or face-to-face. There were 15 questions about e-learning. The respondents had responsibility for treasury, operations, finance, audit or HR. Some of the key findings are below. I have also explained how this has influenced Barbican Learning.

1. 81% of industry respondents indicated that learning modules should be capable of being completed within an hour. It is the major reason for successful completion.

Barbican Learning is bite sized. Each course contains between three and seven sub-topics. Each sub-topic is completed in about 5 minutes. Each course can be completed in less than one hour and many take between 30-45 minutes. This means courses get completed and the learning is done.

2. 50% of potential users would have 3 years industry experience or less. But many saw e-learning as a "refresher" for almost all levels of staff.

Barbican Learning shows you the content and objectives. You can then start. Each course explains the key information that you need to know. It is simply written and answers the questions. You do not have to be an expert.

3. 89% of respondents said that it was important to see that a satisfactory standard had been achieved on completion of the course. Two recurrent themes were "Can we show a third party that learning has occurred?" and "Can we see a return on our investment".

Did this mean testing?

4. The overwhelming response was that testing had to be available. It had the purpose of demonstrating return on investment and importantly provided the necessary evidence that from a compliance and regulation perspective the work had been completed.

Barbican Learning offers you the choice. On completion each course has a multiple choice test. You can decide how you use this. If you decide to use it for self testing then just the user will see the results. Alternatively you may decide to use the reporter rights. This monitors use, captures test results and allows you to run reports to see what has been done.

Reporting

The reporting allows you to see what users have completed. Normally one person will be provided with reporting rights. We can help you set this up so you receive regular progress reports.

You can see what is done.

Add your policy

This is straight forward. If you would like to add your own policies, procedures or products it is simple. The courses will be developed for you and your firm will have sole access. This is particularly relevant for compliance based training.

Add your brand

Barbican Learning has the barbican logo. Alternatively the learning can be "white labelled" using your own designs.
